The most sought-after spot for outdoor recreation in the Orlando metropolitan region, Little Big Econ State Forest has vast nature-filled landscapes for visitors to discover.
It is responsible for protecting more than 10,000 acres in the flooding plain of the Econlockhatchee River as it flows through lush forests to vast marshes that meet with the St. Johns River.
Many trails are specifically designed for specific purposes, and many multi-use trails. It gives an easy way to connect with nature and buffers between suburban areas and rural lands of Seminole County.
Etymology
“The name Little Big Econ State Forest comes from the combination of the Little Econlockhatchee River and the larger Econlockhatchee River, which flow through the forest land. [3]
Mountain biking
Snow Hill is known as the trail among local mountain bikers because of the road the trailhead has in the forest. It also has a 12-mile (19 kilometers) one-track bicycle trail. [8]
Camping
There aren’t any campsites or hookups to be found in the park. All you can do is primitive camping. For canoeists, primitive camping is possible with a permit.

Description
Little Big Econ trails are located in the Florida State Forest system and are often referred to as “Snow Hill Road.” They have signs posted at the start of every trail, which can be beneficial for staying on track.
The ride begins by taking Yahoo up to Ditch of Doom before taking a southerly route along Ditch of Doom and back north to Dingbat. Follow Dingbat over the small bridge on the River Trail (From Toxic Waste to the Flagler Trail). In the end, you’ll be onto the Flagler Trail and continue right across a bridge.
From here, make a left before the next bridge. Make sure to rest on the bridge and take in the view along the river.
Getting Outdoors
There are various outdoor activities at Little Big Econ State Forest. One of the things to do in the forest is to go hiking. This state park is known for the Florida Trail, which offers panoramic views of the Econlockhatchee River and is surrounded by cypress swamps and tropical vegetation. If you’d prefer an easier path, there are other alternatives, like those on the Kolokee Loop Trail, White Trail, and the Yellow Spur Trail.
Camp in the state forest of Little Big Econ State Forest
For those who have RV rentals located in Seminole County, you can stay in a variety of campgrounds that are located close to Big Econ State Forest. Within a short distance of the park is Orange City RV Resort. The RV park can accommodate campers as long as 45 feet long. It also has amenities like 30, 50 amp electricity, WiFi, laundry gas, cable, and gas. The pool, horseshoe court, game room, and picnic tables are also included.
